Grad Wine Tasting!

800px-Cave_do_Vinho_do_Porto_03

HGSA would like to inform you about a unique new social event UCR GSA is working on. In conjunction with our sister organization at UC Irvine, we’ll be sponsoring a trip on January 25th to Temecula for some wine tasting! Our stops will be Mount Palomar WineryLeoness Cellars, and a third winery which is still being determined. The cost is expected to be between *$50 – $60, though to secure a spot you will need to make a $40 deposit by January 19th. You can contact Michael Young to get your name on the list!

HGSA Referendum, PLEASE VOTE YES

Hi everyone,

For procedural reasons, we are forced to hold a vote with at least 2/3rds approving a change to our by-laws to make the terms of the grad reps/HGSA chairs cover the academic year with elections at the end of Spring quarter instead of the current calendar year system. Given that the department, GSA, and we as grad students all operate within the academic year not calendar year, this change makes nothing but sense.

Both Jen, myself, GSA President Sandeep Dahl, and Iselda all support the change, so please help us by voting yes.

Note that this is separate from the officer nomination process that was sent out by Iselda recently, and we encourage nominations for these positions as well.
